Where else but in NYC???

Hundreds of New Yorkers have been riding the city’s subway trains in their underwear. Normally, I’d say, “…and this is something NEW to you???”  EXCEPT for the fact that it’s been hovering at like 20 degrees for DAYS…

Tons of straphangers stripped down to their undies on Sunday for the ninth annual No Pants Subway Ride. The event started in 2002 with just seven people. It has spread to other cities, and apparently, it’s still going strong.  They’re guessing that they had around 3000 participants.

The idea is to act like nothing unusual is going on.  (Ya think???)

Participants met up at six locations throughout the city. They formed groups and dispersed to subway stations to catch trains. Once inside the subway cars, they began calmly removing their pants and folding them up.  Most people read magazines or chatted with their companions like any other straphanger.

How the HELL do you strip to your whitey tighties, in 20 degrees, wearing a scarf and gloves and act as if nothing unusual is going on!?  And man, imagine if your jacket opened at that point, that’d be the MOST headlights you’ve seen on in NYC in a LONG time!

The stunt is organized by Improv Everywhere, a group that says its mission is to cause “scenes of chaos and joy in public places.”  Hmmmm…  Scenes of chaos?  In New York City???  NO!!!!  As for joy in public places, you saw what happened to all the guys giving out free hugs, right?  OUCH.  These guys ARE great, though.  Check out some of their videos, they are HILARIOUS!  If you like these, go check out ALL their videos on www.youtube.com., or their site at www.improveverywhere.com/missions/spontaneous-musicals/ .
